The new iOS 9 update will be released round September and it will work on iPhone 4S and later, iPad Mini, iPad 2 and later and the iPod Touch fifth generation.
iOS 9 adds a new app to your Home screen. News conveniently collects all the stories you want to read, from top news sources, based on topics you’re most interested in — so you no longer need to move from app to app to stay informed. News also combines the rich and immersive design found in print with the interactivity of digital media, letting you enjoy stunningly crafted articles just how the publisher intended.
The Notes app until now has been limited as just typing plain text but with iOS 9 you can now add photos, links and maps to create more detailed and even richer notes.
- Turn lists into checklists.
- Sketch your thoughts.
- Note it with a photo.
- Add to your notes. From whatever app you’re in
Apple Maps will now be able to provide even more information about your surroundings including restaurants, shopping and other points of interest with the new Nearby feature. Maps will also include metropolitan transit information and schedules to make using public transport even easier. Train station entrances and exits will be even clearer to help you plan your trip faster and more accurately. And you can also find the fastest way to your destination whether you’re on the bus, driving or walking.
If your car supports wireless connection to iPhone, you can use CarPlay without plugging in. CarPlay also plays audio messages, so you can hear from people in their own voices. If you use your car’s knobs to control CarPlay, you can now take full advantage of the way they tilt and spin to scroll through lists or pan around in Maps. And apps developed by car manufacturers are supported, too — so you can control more of your car’s features without ever leaving CarPlay.
Now you can open a second app without leaving the one you’re in. So you can quickly browse the web, respond to a text message, or jot something down in a note, then slide that app away and get back to the one you were using before.

A built-in Shortcut Bar to Bold, italicize, or underline — even copy and paste — with just a couple of taps from your keyboard. The Shortcut Bar can also be customized for third-party apps, so the tools you need are always right where you need them.
Siri will be a lot faster and smarter in iOS 9 and also has a new look. Not only can Siri find answers for you from the internet, it will now give you even easier access to the content on your device. You can now ask Siri to find photos from your trip or from a particular event as well as remind you to follow up on emails and sites you you’ve been looking at later.
- Even longer battery life
- Smaller, more convenient updates.
- Faster and more responsive.
- Improved security.
